ABOUT US | Values
|
Our core values explain the convictions that we own, out of which our actions grow.
Community
We want to be a place where diversity and inclusiveness are cherished,
where people make new friends and deepen existing friendships, where people connect and participate at the
level of their comfort. The community should be a place where people know and care for one another,
share life together, and participate in a variety of activities together.
Spirituality
We intend to be a place where people can seek God and receive support at
any stage of their spiritual journey. We intend to be good listeners, to be non-coercive fellow seekers.
We also intend to share our personal stories and the story of God, insofar as we understand it. We want to
be a place where God can be experienced through arts, music, nature and other avenues, as well as the intellect.
We want to be a place where people connect with God, experience transformation, and deepen their commitment
to a life of loving well.
Service
We intend to be a place where justice, mercy, and peace are acted upon, not just
talked about. We want to make our love specific by performing tangible acts of love toward specific human beings. Because of all the ways that God has blessed us, we want in turn to be a blessing to our city.

"I feel truly free to explore and view spirituality in a way that is engaging and meaningful. What makes the
experience particularly meaningful to me is that the people who make up CityLights show genuine respect and
love for one another, even though they frequently express different viewpoints."
